Jeebee

I was excited and tempted.

Then I rationalised it.
They are slightly out of my main era
I'd prefer railtrack livery ideally
Haven't budgeted for it
NGS kits could be made (future aspiration in kit building skills)
Preordered mk5s and biomass are said to be close and will need paying for

So decided not to

But then
They are a good model
They are a useful train length
EBay is a pain and a stress, and variable cost
Plus assembling a full set of 5 could take years
Eras can be stretched
Resale value can mitigate future buyers remorse

So I caved and just ordered a 5 set.

Will delay the class 90 purchase to rebalance the budget

So I've already got the Railtrack liveried generator wagon plus one non-gen.

As far as I can tell the Network Rail livery is just a yellow panel with the Network Rail logo over the Railtrack Blue panel.

I think that I can repaint mine to match the RoS ones, or alternatively maybe someone could come up with vinyls or transfers to do the job for me, @captainelectra @steadfast

Of course matching the weathering will be a bit of a bother!

Best bet I would say is paint the yellow band as you'll get a much better colour match and the real wagons are pretty consistent across a set. This would also allow the white Railtrack lettering to be rubbed down so it doesn't show as a raised outline.

I believe the black NR logos are available from Railtec from stock, but it's always something that could be looked at as a custom piece if needed.

I'd be rubbing it down and painting it anyway even if I did use transfers or vinyls. Part of the problem for me is getting a good paint match as it's difficult to get paint shipped overseas.

Thanks,
