I had a room in a hotel/pub booked for last Saturday night near Exeter. On the Thursday the hotel emailed me to say they couldn't honour it as the landlady was ill and the economic situation had also forced them to close the pub. On Sunday I got a request for feedback on my stay. I'm yet to complete it though  :hmmm:

I have had a blitz of Amazon purchases and deliveries over the past 10 days and I have rated each delivery. The drivers from both the delivery depots have been unfailingly polite, cheerful and communicative, and also remarkably young...by which I mean in their 20s/30s. The depot nearest to me is a newly built mega-shed and I think their recruitment policy for the delivery drivers favoured the young. I know that Amazon comes in for a lot of criticism but at the customer end of things, they get a lot of things right. The things I have had delivered from 3rd party sources (i.e. not from stock in the local shed) have all arrived the day after ordering which  has generally been faster than the delivery date given at the time of ordering. Maybe I should be marking them down for delivering early. :-)

Just had a mail from Royal Mail asking for feedback on a delivery.
Really? What do they think I'm going to say that is repeatable?

Have you received it yet?  :worried:

Not sure what you refer to, Bob, but I don't think even RM would ask for feedback on a delivery they knew they hadn't made ???

Is this the same Royal Mail people who don't want to upset anyone but are still striking for the 2 days immediately before Christmas? And the same Royal Mail who it seems 99% of the population agree with? I'm not in that 99% of course  :veryangry:

We received an "Evri" parcel earlier in the week. That itself is pretty remarkable, but this particular parcel was received by them on the 9th November (I checked the tracking). Obviously I'd reported it as missing weeks ago, and it had been replaced.

Within minutes of the delivery I got an email requesting feedback on their driver. I felt slightly torn. He was perfectly friendly, insisted on not putting the parcel on the wet ground to take the mandatory photo (it was 48 toilet rolls, so a bit cumbersome), and arrived within the delivery slot I'd been advised of that morning. He's not been hiding the parcel for 7 weeks, and if he is in any way incentivised by feedback then I'd not want him penalised for his employer being woeful. I ended up not giving feedback. But the vendor didn't send the replacement toilet rolls (which we got a month ago) via Evri, which probably speaks volumes!

Now I have 96 toilet rolls, which seems excessive. They don't want the extra box back, ours to keep for the inconvenience.

I'd have been more miffed that I'd ordered bumwipe and got one of those!

Just spotted that myself, too slow!

The company that I work for used to use TrustPilot, amongst others.  They stopped after some terrible reviews.  However, after realising that the reviews are a huge value to new customers, we started again about 18 months ago.  We now have thousands of positive reviews, and the few negative ones are used to learn from, and change how our processes are done.  It's changed the business for the better, not only for the customer, but our staff are rewarded monthly for positive reviews.  A morale booster!

I think I'd rather have my bog rolls replaced than 1 of my tits

I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.

I agree it can be a useful tool but it's getting ridiculous. My youngest sister wanted Emma Bridgewater vouchers for Christmas so I bought them on line and then get a 'please tell us how we did' e mail.
What the ? I had no contact with a human and I won't be spending the vouchers so what was the point? I always ask for vouchers for birthdays and Christmas and would be annoyed if any company sent me such a mail. Then again, I'm a grumpy old sod :)
