Hello

I have tried searching with little success, does anyone make N scale cattle grids please?  These will be to go either side of a foot crossing at the end of a pair of station platforms.

I can probably scratch build something but if a 3D print exists out there somewhere, that would be ideal.

Many thanks!

How about something like this, trimmed to fit and laid on its side?

That's certainly the sort of thing that I would utilise for cattle grids. Anything larger will be too bulky.
The Peco plastic fencing wuld work equally well I think.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Bob. What material did you construct yours out of recently @Bob Tidbury ?

My cattle grid was made from corrugated plasticard painted brown then the ridges done with a silver felt tipped pen .It was made to cover the gap in my new lift out section  so it  had to be a bit flexible I think that it looks ok to my eyes .

Many thanks for all your ideas. The N-Scale ones are nice but the wrong type, being the sort that are mounted beneath gates on rural tracks etc.

The railway version are more like a grid of wooden Toblerones and I think I know what I am going to try.

The Q

I'll say the N-Scenic, grids are very good for their purpose, I've two so far fitted on my layout, several more to go. They are card, so don't get them too soggy when painting them..

I'd be tempted to try cutting the corners off a matchstick to make the Toblerone type.

Ah, so you don't mean cattle grids but anti-trespass panels or pyramid mats - aka witches hats.

Ah, the Witches Hats.  Actually a 3d print for those would be useful too but not my era at the moment (future project maybe), for the moment it is rather Toblerone boxes rather than the chunks!!  Effectively matchsticks on their sides which is going to be my first attempt later.

Ah, the ones using triangular lengths of timber laid on one of the short edges so each length has a vertical face and a sloping one?
Matchsticks split on the diagonal should do well for those.

Do you mean anti trespass panels?

I also wanted to replicate the triangular timber strips for my layout.

If you'd be willing to wait about 4-6 weeks until my next 'batch' goes out (N15 King Arthur and streamlined Coronation Scot kits, maybe with some CScot coaches too), I'll send you some just for the cost of the postage.

Ross.
