If you know someone who's depressed, please resolve never to ask them why. Depression isn't a straightforward response to a bad situation; depression just is, like the weather.Try to understand the blackness, lethargy, hopelessness, and loneliness they're going through. Be there for them when they come through the other side. It's hard to be a friend to someone who's depressed, but it is one of the kindest, noblest, and best things you will ever do."

Love the way they say 'we realise we haven't done that much in N gauge' then promptly follow it up by not doing much in n gauge....

I just wish they would say something about all the products they announced a while back that still haven't hit the shelves (Scotrail BG/Mk2 TSO for example).
If it moves and shouldn't, duct tape. It it doesn't move and should, WD40...

An esoteric unique(?) TSO, whilst the market appears to be clamouring for bog standard blue/grey and NSE? It's an interesting choice.

The OO gauge 90s look good, £230 yields a sharp intake of breath!

Still, that is definitive confirmation that in this, the celebratory anniversary year of Graham Farish they have released very, very little to commemorate it.

While I'm glad they've put decoder sockets in the 03 and 04, as an announcement in 2021 it's on par with saying they've got wheels :worried:

The 50th anniversary of Graham Farish was in 2020.

Tell that to Bachmann!  :smiley-laughing:

Yep, but there were suggestions, following the naming of 60002 in March that they were going to mark it with some more worthwhile announcements in one of the quarterly announcements this year. They haven't.

Oh right, I don't remember reading that, do you have a link to it? I recall they said a model of the Class 60 named Graham Farish would follow in due course and having seen it displayed at their returns club sale thing at the grand central railway a few weeks ago it's clearly making progress. I guess that would be announced formally in one of these quarterly announcements when it's within the release window, nice to see it progressing though.

its a shame they didn't design an 03/04 chassis with integrated stay alive capacitor / dcc decoder - like the ngs hunslet will have.

anyway i'll buy a new 03 and see how it runs.

i'll also buy the rtc mk2 coach.

but not very much again...

Nope, it was following one of the previous quarterly announcements I think. Maybe Spring 2021. As you say, they have confirmed a model of the 60 will come, which is a no-brainer. It's ironic that the real railway did a better job of marking the anniversary than Bachmann themselves!

Ah, I guess someone from Bachmann must have told someone this at a show, theres been plenty of them this year!

Indeed, fair play to GBRf for doing that 60!

I looked at photos on Flickr of the real GMPTE's 150 133, it ran during the 90s before it was repainted into First North Western's blue/gold livery. For a time it ran as a 3-car unit in GMPTE livery with a 150/2 centre car inserted.
As the DMU was repainted in FNW blue by 2003, my chosen era, I'm not planning to buy one.

Not a huge fan of the sarcastic tone there, there's reference in the Summer 2021 announcements to the anniversary, which says "with many new things to come blah blah blah", since then the 03/04 is the only new tooling. There was something more explicit written on one of the forums, I forget it's provenance, so entirely possible it was misconstrued, but sod trawling them all to find it! Point remains that they've done virtually nothing to recognise it, other than promise a forthcoming model of 60002.

Retenir

Hello everyone,

I stumbled upon this thread and was quite interested in it, since I actually joined the Bachmann Collectors Club in 2020 specifically to have access to any exclusive 50th anniversary product that they might release. I was disappointed to see that, appart from an article in one of the 'Bachmann Times' 2020 issues on the history of the Farish brand (as well as the aforementioned naming of an actual locomotive), nothing was really done for that occasion.

For anyone interested, I stumbled upon the following while reading a back issue (Winter 2019 Vol.20 No.2) of the 'Bachmann Times', in the 'Club Members Talk' section. To one club member asking whether any anniversary product is planned, Bachmann replies:

"[...] Bachmann Europe is proud to still be making models bearing [the Graham Farish] name some 50 years later. Plans are certainly in hand to mark such a significant milestone in an appropriate manner and further details will be announced during 2020 in the Bachmann Times [...]"

Then, as we know, nothing happened. My guess is that it had to do with the pandemic impacting the products release plan, although that's pure speculation on my part based on what I've heard of the effects of Covid on the industry.

(Sorry if this reply fails to follow any of the manners of this forum, as this is my first post!)
I'm fairly new to this forum, my apologies if I'm in any way ignorant.
