Do the non-sound ones have a speaker and Next-18 socket, like the Class 40s?

N_GaugeModeller

It's my understanding that they all have next18 sockets and built in speakers, like the class 40

Gave in yesterday & ordered a grey sound fitted one from Kernows, the blue sound fitted ones were out of stock there already. To my surprise it arrived today via DPD, lovely model & top service from Kernows

That's nice. When I got the email from Rails the other day I trotted along to check out the BR Blue/Sound Fitted one and it had already sold out. My wallet is grateful.

Naive question... is there any visual difference between the Farish 371-112, running number 31 173 in BR blue, and the new Farish 371-112A, running number 31 131 (I appreciate that there may be technical differences)?

No difference externally other than the running number. Both 371-112 & 371-112A are models of the same sub-class of class 31s.

371-112A has a Next18 decoder socket whilst 371-112 has a 6 pin. The DCC ready 371-112A probably also has a factory fitted speaker.

Digitrains have posted a video of a sound fitted on to their YouTube Channel:

Mine arrived this morning, I went for the BR green no sound version.

A nice quite model running around my test track as I type, so quiet I have to keep checking to see if its still moving  :claphappy: :claphappy: :claphappy:
