Flush with the profits of a recent birthday I deliberated long and hard before placing my order with a well known Liverpool retailer. So a day or so later my "Merseyside Express" arrived along with a blood and custard Mk1 BG plus three weathered Presflos. Whilst the Deltic was running in, I thought I'd give the cement wagons a whirl behind a Union Mills 0-6-0. Constant derailments followed, and this is very rare for my layout. Ran the wagons then behind a BachFar class 24- perfect running once more. Anyone experienced this sort of thing?

As a footnote, the Deltic is just amazing !!!!

i have just hooked up my rake of Presflos to the back of a UM G2 and as i type they are running round my layout happily

is it just one paticular wagon that derails or do they all do it  ???

if its the first then i would check the couplings on the wagons
if its the latter then i would also check the coupling on the loco

i have had instances with derailments with certain loco/rolling stock combinations before but it's limited to peco wagons
or kit built wagons on peco frames when pulled by a farish class 47 where the couplings foul the buffers of the 47 resulting in
the rear of the wagon lifting and derailing  :-\

also it's getting harder to resist the deltic with so many good reports and not many bad ones  :smiley-laughing:
MUST RESIST

Hi Irish Padre,

I have suffered a similar issue before but resolved it by shuffling the wagons in the rake until it didn't happen. This was with Peco NR44 (Utterley) Butterleys

Thanks gents - I've had this before with Farish planked opens ..I did try shuffling the vehicles and there was no difference! At least I know I've got one loco which can haul them-might try them with my G2.
