A quick search of the forum shows quite a few people suffer from procrastination to varying degrees, myself included, so I though people might enjoy taking a look at this website: https://waitbutwhy.com/2013/10/why-procrastinators-procrastinate.html
If you prefer video he's also done a Ted talk which is basically the same material: https://www.ted.com/talks/tim_urban_inside_the_mind_of_a_master_procrastinator

Now it might seem like reading or watching that is just another opportunity to procrastinate but it's actually quite interesting plus it's presented in an accessible and light-hearted way.
It's helped me a bit anyway, if I can picture what's going on it's easier to catch myself starting to procrastinate and get down to something useful  :-[

I'll read it later...  :D

My entire layout is procrastination. It'll never be finished  in my lifetime.

At least I've come to accept this.  ;)

mr magnolia

that was a good watch, thanks.

I procrastinate in almost everything - and with regards to my layout, I can spend months 'planning' the next moves or changes and then I suddenly find myself tearing into things for a few days and achieving great strides forward!

I spend a good bit of working life working to deadlines, the response to which is very similar to that outlined in the video - the advantage being that decisions are required and then must be committed to as the deadline looms!

At least I'll have something to do tomorrow  :bounce:

Never put off till tomorrow, what you can put off till the day after.

Never put off till tomorrow, what you can delegate today...

Or as someone else put it (Ken Dodd, I think) never put off until tomorrow what you can do today...if you liked doing it today, you can do it again tomorrow.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.
