A friend always alerts me when the new video comes out on youtube.    I've linked a couple of them on posts on here in the past but probably better if they have their own thread that I can update with new links.

So here is September 2020.  A bit more Swiss than usual, with some stunning scenery  :)  You may want to turn the volume down at 35:20 ish!

@Jim Easterbrook I do believe I spotted a brief glimpse of a Tm 2/2 in train at around 14:30?

Yup, one of the several variants of that basic design.

I'd seen them in trains when browsing the Filisur webcam archives. I guess they move them around as needed.

It's a testament to your modelling Jim that the prototype is so recognisable in that short cameo.

Is anyone going to take up the challenge of modelling that impressive 20 loco consist at ~36:00? :D

@railgooner easy  :D

I was more concerned with the train of 143s, hope they weren't being dragged away for scrap. One of my favourite classes.   [edit] Yes going for scrap :-(

I haven't found out what the train at the end was actually about yet..... protesting about something.  [edit] Yes, rail freight operators protesting about aid during the pandemic.  Google translate:

"A milestone for the public perception of the efficient freight railways in the European Railways (NEE) network was the journey of an almost 400-meter-long train consisting of 21 modern locomotives through the capital on September 28, 2020. With the help of the signal horns, the train drivers attracted a lot of attention at various points. The fact that the freight railways that do not belong to the DB are already handling well more than half of the nationwide rail freight traffic and want to continue to grow was also emphatically publicly emphasized, as was the demand for equal treatment in corona aid with the DB freight railways."

More a testament to the designer ("TT trams") who put his work on Shapeways. I did little more than painting and decorating.

Yes, a shame that they're being withdrawn.
DB Regio often has to provide new trains if they win a call for tenders so they're surplus to requirements...

Good I have saved some :D

(admittedly, there's one 112.1 and one 114 among them)

Best
Michael  :)

@mika    I need to add a "White Lady" to my fleet.  I do have AEG white.

There's something about these DR ribbed sided "boxes" that I really like, the 112s,143s, 155s, 180s and others

I know what you mean, Nick.
They're the locos I grew up with.
Funny thing is that Siemens have used those 'ribs' on their 189s.

Best,
Michael
