Morning,

Does anyone know where I can get hold of plastic seat inserts for GF Mk1s? I bought a wreck of a VEP conversion on eBay and I'm trying to improve the aesthetics. For starters the coach bodies are completely empty (save the one with the motor present), so I'd like to put some actual seating in them as a bare minimum. I've searched in the usual way, but Google doesn't turn up much.

Indeed they do, but they don't stock MkI, and never have (according to the chap I just spoke to on the phone.) I think it may have to be the case that I buy some MkIIs and butcher them!

That's what I do to my SR EMUs.
Thankfully the Mk 2 seating is good for Mk 1 opens, and I use cannibalised Mk 1 seating for the corridor parts of eg 4-CIGs.

I have a few but they are all corridor types

One thing I find with the coach interiors is that they are fairly heavy and do make a significant difference to the weight of say a 10 coach train, testing the loco somewhat if on a gradient. I do tend to restrict my trains to a 5 coach load when fitted with the interiors with passengers inside.

Thanks for the info. Seeing as my coaches are a little on the light side this should save me having to also buy some liquid lead
