England v West Indies
« on: July 04, 2020, 11:23:23 AM »
One of the upsides of being furloughed is I'll get to watch some live Cricket this summer  :D

The squad has just been announced for the first Test on Wednesday 8th July https://www.skysports.com/cricket/news/12173/12020825/dom-bess-picked-as-englands-spinner-in-13-man-squad-for-first-west-indies-test

I reckon the team will be

1 Burns
2 Sibley
3 Crawley
4 Denly
5 Pope
6 Stokes
7 Buttler
8 Bess
9 Broad
10 Archer
11 Anderson

Just hope the weather's good  :smiley-laughing:

Yes, Iíll be watching but, being retired, I would anyway  :D

Not a bad shout but for me maybe Leach ahead of Bess.

Plus, sooner or later, itís time to think about a replacement for Anderson I suppose.
If it looks right then it most probably is right.

Would love to see Wood and Archer bowling in tandem, and Woakes was a toughie to leave out.

Not being a Sky fan (for that, read 'tight wad') I'll have to pick up any scraps on Ch4 if they show it.

Someone once said "if you want rain, arrange a cricket match" and true to form, the forecast for the first day at Southampton is bobbins  ::) ::)

Like Nobby I'm too mean to stump up for Sky but will be glued to TMS on the Beeb, although it won't be the same without Blowers

Forecast for the 2nd day is slightly less bobbins (Can some one translate that please?)
Supposedly a lot better tomorrow.
