Hi All,

I noticed this section  can have other than   N gauge  builds/locos so  heres  my latest HO     buy   ;D ..............

These Proto 2000 HO PA1 / PB1 undecorated units arrived recently ..... the powered A unit has had a a 4 function decoder fitted the B unit is unpowered although has more than enough space to fit a sound decoder in at a later date with the exhaust grille moulded open allowing more sound to escape  ;)

Also opened up the detail part locations slightly to allow for paint ..... later on i'll prime the bodies ready for the top coat

Someone saw the A unit & commented American locos can be light i wouldnt say the A unit is  as it weighs in at 605 Grams  ::)

They are going to be  PRR   Tuscan   Red  like the one below though not as  dirty    :)

I shall look forward to seeing them finished

They will look great if they come close to the prototype you posted beneath. How on earth will you do the pinstriping? Masking up must be a black art  :)

The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Many thanks for the replies  ;D

I forgot to say the  connectors between the units i   removed   are fully working detailed items  i  have unclipped from  the bodies while  they are having their main colour applied as you can see below they  have  spring  wires to allow the modeller to   open them   &   pose open  as are the doors on the A unit the  detail  even has handrails  to the side of the doors.

I'll    hand paint them  unless i  can  disasemble them  &  spray them while they're off  the bodies.

There are two   packs of handrails pipes etc to add to the units as well

Second picture shows  depth of connectors   next to a biro   :D

As to the  pinstriping Mike/Malc   Microscale to the rescue  with this sheet i  have  in  my  decal   box :D:

Although if i  had needed i would have masked the bodies up   to do  the stripes  ;)
