is it only me,
or is it getting more and more difficult to get any detail on google earth ?

we use this for wargames, but recently more and more of the UK is basically unreadable.

used to be able to see each track across our local fields, now yoy can hardly see the county.

yanks punishing us again for something ?

I use Google Maps satellite view and that seems to be much the same.

Except the Satellite view of Wigan North Western station now shows a Class 319 and TWO Class 195's in platforms 6,5, & 4.

So definitely been updated recently.

Does it vary from area to area?
I've just had a quick look over the Lake District on Google Maps and can see it well enough to discern sheep on the fells, paths being no problem.

it seems the poor data is patchy, some areas are ok, others are so poor that roads stop at the edge of the next 'frame'

The house I moved out of in 2015 was on a corner, if you look on street view from one road you see the the trellis I had roses growing on, the roses had gone, if yoiu look from the other road the trellis has been replaced by a high fence; the earlier imge is dated 2016, the recent one 2019. I've also noticed that the 3D view is no longer available.

How many roads must a man walk down ... ... ... ... ... before he knows he's lost!

Could be that they want us to pay for the upgrade?

Has bing also changed? it used to give you the option to view os maps, however that option seems to have vanished,or  does that only work with microsoft operating systems/browsers?
freedom of speech is but a  fallacy.it dosnt exist here

not sure, but a very good point.

I must investigate

bing maps seem to be just that, ie same a a Tesco road map book,

don't seem, unless I'm looking at the wrong thing, to have 'real' aerial footage, so Google used to be more use, at least for our wargames.

recently, either Google isn't updating, or the views are blurred...

perhaps Trump doesn't want to share.
