Don't worry, there will be no panic buying of tools and PCs once all of the non-essential shops have shut! I suspect the UK will follow what's just happened here in France very soon.....

What on Earth were they thinking when they said that how the heck can a firm making cars or lorries suddenly start making ventilators ,now days every thing is made by computer and machines ,during the war when all the factories started making munitions and tanks and planes everything was made by hand so a lot easier to get someone with experience to show the work force how to make planes out of wood instead of chairs for instance , Not so easy to change all the machines from making car panels or engines to making ventilators , just goes to show that politicians live in a different world to the COMMON PEOPLE .,But  I do like the idea of the over 70s being house bound and isolated but are the government going to buy my gas bottles to keep me warm in my shed during the day .

As an ex factory man I can tell you there are factories and factories.  Car production lines are useless to convert but the companies that assemble the instrument panels or the air conditioning units for these cars are 95% hand assembled production lines still.  A very large number of non consumer goods technical product companies will be able to convert, but it will take time.

I was encouraged by Mat Hancock saying that if British industry makes more than we need then we would help supply the rest of the world.  That means two things, there is a serious reason for companies to make the effort (and make money) and as result the second  aspect is we should get as many as we need  (eventually).

Good to hear modellers are thinking about the 1:148 scale people on their layouts.

I've ordered all mine to stay at home, but trains will be running empty to give them something to look at.

Social distancing, the N scale version.

This 5-car version of Train Suite Shikishima carries just 6 passengers.

There's a fine line between a terrible paint job and a masterpiece of weathering.
