You actually managed to miss out the lads trade, as my wife was a Scopy, aka Aerospace Systems Operator ASOP that would probably be his trade, if they haven't merged it with something else....

Me, I was a fairy,  AKA Electronics Technician Air Defence (now merged with other trades) .

The Lad will be working down the R3 undeground, which was out of use being rebuilt when we were there, So the scopies worked from the temporary  R30 above ground. Me.. I worked in the R12..

Yes our last station was RAF boulmer, where the accomodation for the WAAFs  was still the temporary Seco huts that were falling apart.. or 3 men to a small married quarters in Longhoughton and a long walk to the Mess.

The Cooks are now Sudexo civilians hence the profit making means the food standards have fallen tremendously..

Job Title or Trade? two different things..

Could do without the Americanisum of Air Space rather than Aerospace,  which would be the British term..

I must be getting old complaining about the use of the ENGLISH language.. I left in 88 as an NCO, which would have been 98 or after with a second extension, had I not been medically down graded..
