Excellent. Thanks for that. Brought back memories of why I was banned by my father from EVER practising the recorder while he was in the house  . My mother, on the other hand, tried to encourage me. The poor thing  .

By far the best playing the piano badly was the great Eric Morecambe with "Andrew Preview".

I vaguely knew one of the musicians involved in the Portsmouth Sinfonia in the 80s as he was a college lecturer, won't disclose his name.

I remember in the 1960s all the kids had Dolmetsch recorders.

Was he one of Harold Wilson's friends ?
