Notice alot of people have animals in their pictures.
So who's got what 



We have Bob the Jack russell

Aquired him about 3 years ago as an ex stray rescue. Other half isn't keen on him (definatly and mans man) but he is a character and hilarious 
Has an irrational hatred of the postman and anyone who wears a hi-vis  but other then that lovable chap but isn't much help with N gauge as will either eat it or bark at it

Oscar, 6 1/2 year old husky, ex-rescue at 6 months old, previous owners couldn't manage him and their new baby.



at the time we still had Coco, our last shepherd, and I think she is responsible for how well he turned out, we lost her about six months later.

no destructive tendencies, unlike some huskies, no aggression, and great with the grandkids.

but not much of a guard dog.

Coco was training Oscar for nearly two years, not six months, and achieved more than I have in the six years we've had him

From the same breeder in North Lincolnshire and three years apart, they are half brother and sister [same father different mothers].
Typical Labradors in all respects - love water, will do anything for food.

This is Dolly, our Chesapeake Bay Retriever, bred for Duck Retrieval from the North American Lakes. She is 5 and a half years and just recovered from 2 cruciate ligament operations. She is now fighting fit and loving life again now that she is pain free.

When we had 3 dogs...



All lagotto romagnolos (Italian water dog - no we hadn't heard of them 10 years ago, either).

In the middle is Marco, who died just over a year ago aged 16 years, 2 months. The grey one to the left is his great-grand-daughter, Lexie who is now 4 and on the right is his great-great-grand-daughter, Bella who is 3. They all look filthy because they've been in the sea!

I now have four cats.

The oldest is Scamp, who showed up on the farm I lived on in 2013 as a kitten. Wouldn't let you touch him or pick him up at first, now he enjoys being around his humans. Has a thing for squirrels. Also the talker of the group. This is an old picture of him, but a favorite of mine.


Second oldest now is K.C. I found him in 2016 while out railfanning on a hot July day east of Louisville. He was out in the middle of nowhere so I couldn't leave him. I was chasing a Kansas City Southern (KCS) "Gray ghost" locomotive when I found him, which is how he got the name K.C. Loves food, and always comes running when he hears the bags of shredded cheese being moved out of the fridge. Also nicknamed him "Snugglebug", because he likes to sit right on your chest in front of you when he wants attention.


And finally, the two kittens I found underneath my outbuilding for my N scale stuff back at the end of September. I hadn't seen the mother around too much and it was obvious these guys were in rough shape. The weather was in the 90s and while I was going to leave them alone at first, on a return trip I noticed a bunch of flies hanging around waiting for the end. Brought them in, cleaned them up, and started bottle feeding them, as they were only about 3 weeks old. Now they're about 10 weeks old and doing great, no issues at the vet, though they didn't like getting their shots. Top photo is "Chip", the bottom is "Puck".




Of the four, Scamp has always been fascinated watching my trains run, though he knows not to bother them. Puck is now showing an interest in watching too. Chip is terrified of them, and K.C. has no interest at all (because it's not food related, I guess).

Had a budgie for thirteen years until it carked it a few weeks back.

So to paraphrase John Cleese, I've got an ex-budgie

We now have 5 cats and 1 dog. 
The cats in the first pictures are siblings, we sadly had to have their Mother put to sleep earlier this year. They are all about 9 years old now.

This is 'White Toes' and this picture was featured in a calendar a couple of years ago


Then we have another one, (who is the 'bully' of the litter) -

The fifth cat, 'Bella', is a long haired, one eyed cat. I took her to the Vet's a while back as she had horrible 'gunge' in her left eye. When we got to the Vet's, he said that the eye had ruptured for some reason, so she had what was left removed and stitched up. She is about 16 years old now but is still quite fit and active. For some reason, I can not find a picture of her.

The final picture is of our dog 'Blue', he is an Alsatian crossed with .......... you name it! He is the most gentle, placid dog you could wish to meet, but, if any one comes near the house, well, his bark frightens me!  And he is virtually as tall as me when he stands up.

Looking back, I realise that at one time, we had 13 cats and 3 dogs, all 'rescues'

I was the same as parents always had cats. 
Ended up with the dog as the other half doesn't like cats and to be fair I wasn't keen on dogs 
Somehow now me and the dog are best mates and she finds the dog annoying

Everyone can see I have a (predominantly) white cat without me saying anything. For some reason I get plastered in white cat hair but the ginger ones stay on Hookey
Before I do any clothes washing I have to run the rinse cycle on the washing machine and even that doesn't get rid of all of it.

Hello.
My daughter has a cat named Bunny.
When we adapted her, we misheard "Bonnie" and became "Bunny".
She's a very calm cat and well behaved.
I got lucky on this one because I was worrying about my tiny N empire.
She's ignoring my train and layout so far.
My daughter made a couple of videos.

I thought she can get gazillion subscribers and I can retire from my work but it didn't happen.

My parents had cats but most of us  had dogs.
At our peak we had  7 rough collies and one Border collie, sadly they're all gone now, SWMBOs hands just couldn't cope with the grooming required anymore so they weren't replaced when they died..

We now have 1 Border collie a rescue he's now 9 and we've had him a couple of years. We are looking to get another rough collie to keep him company but haven't been able to organise one yet.

I'll have to dig around and see of I can find some pictures..
