Lest we Forget

In memoriam:

75 years ago, on the beaches of Normandie...

The 80th anniversary of the declaration of war is coming up as well. It seems ironic that we're heading towards the ingredients for another major war (Brexit, Trump, trade war, Iran etc.)...

Yes, but please keep anything remotely political off the forum.

Why don't you pop over to the introduction page and tell us about yourself.

Sometimes you bite the dog...

...sometimes the dog bites you!

I can explain it to you...

...but I can't understand it for you.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

I was on gold beach at 07:15 (local time) to see about 200 + WW2 vehicles and witness piper mark the moment 75 years early the 1st British men landed.

The view was amazing the moment was special well worth getting up at 5 for. Dams over Normandy yesterday all very memorable.

We won't forget Peter ( @Peter K ) but thanks for the bump. Looking forward to saying Hi over on the Intro Page.
“We are indebted to those soldiers who served with courage and distinction to bring peace to Northern Ireland,” UK Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson said. “The welfare of our former service personnel is of the utmost importance.”
