Having had Irish Grandparents I always loved me nan's boiled gammon ham with colcannon (cabbage and potato) but probably a bit boring. Did find this recipe with a twist though...

I'm not a great fan of proper Irish Stew as not a massive lamb fan but BEEF AND GUINNESS STEW is turning me on. I  think I'll give it a go myself on Saturday.

A single malt is a single malt

Slight variation on the above - Bacon and Cabbage. A bacon joint, sliced, with a serving of boiled cabbage, mashed potatoes, all covered in a parsley sauce. Wash it down with a glass of Guinness. (Save the single Malt until the guests have gone home!  ). I enjoy it and am a Yorkshireman living in Ireland for nigh on 20 years).

The majority hate the forced, fake "Irishness" that pervades so many English establishments for a week either side of St P's...

except.......

the best three places to stuff my face with all good things from the sea here in the metropolis are Irish.

Wrights Oyster Bar, The Cow, and The Bentley , though at The Bentley one could easily eat a Tomix shinkansen's worth of shellfish- probably with an add on 4 car set too!!
