Noooooooo........It's feeble dross
One man's light entertainment is another man's feeble dross.

TBH, if you use the feeble dross argument, there's virtually nothing viewable on telly at all, including the news.

My standards for light entertainment are extremely high, I only watch "On the buses " . :D

Each to his own cup of tea, methinks.

Meanwhile, over on Channel Youtube, a Teletubbies playlist (my 19 month son loves them) has just morphed into something called "The Night Garden" which makes Teletubbies look like a haven of sane rationality.

This thread could be renamed "Why Zog doesn't have a television set....."
For me, TV ended the day of the first 'reality show'... OK, I'll stop, Cox if I get into preach mode it'll go on for ever.
I used to spend toooooo long gazing into a screen, so I got a computer - wait, um, yeah, you know what I mean...
But yeah, I really don't have a television. "FREEDOM!", as a well known Scotsman probably never yelled outside of the movies.....
"When in trouble, when in doubt, run (trains) in circles..." etc.
There, doesn't that feel better?
Lovely!

I have to say I find it very difficult to discover anything worth watching these days. I tend to concentrate on news and documentaries with a few exceptions. (Which I won't tell you about for fear 😱 of being trounced.)

Hey! That's my high horse! LOL...
I got on my H.H. and hit the trail out of TV land around 10 years ago. I can't say that I have never checked out the occasional prog on the various replay websites, but those who sit in front of the one eyed bandit night after night are beyond my understanding. And now you have to have a TV licence to watch the BBC iPlayer too!

I'd never understood the concept of Reality TV.
The one thing those shows definitely aren't is Real!!
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Ok I'm coming out of the closet here, I watch Strictly..... There I said it....  :-[ :-[ :-[

Not for the dancing you must realise, I challenge any man to watch and have his eyes pop out on stalks at what some of the female dancers are wearing, or not in some cases  ;) ;) ;) ;)

But I do actually watch it to see the 'Celebrities' improve and most of them do. Although I'm not his greatest fan, I really hope that Ed Balls does well, because he must be the nearest to an 'ordinary' person out of them all.

Cheers

Neal.

I don't tend to watch these 'celebville' Saturday/Sunday night shows but, having looked up the line up, I only know who 50% of them are. The rest are totally unheard of by me :dunce:
Anastacia has one helluva voice and Naga/Ore I know from watching BBC Breakfast news (Naga lives up to her name, too!)

100% agree - Strictly is the only "Reality" type show that I will actually watch. For everything else, there's Netflix...

Dancing is very much out of the question but I shall be there (with a big cushion).

Netflix has been invaluable during my recovery - every episode of Star Trek at the push of a button   :D

Strictly come dancing starts tonight - ITS ON NOW...
Could be spending a lot more time on here early Saturday evenings.

(Ducks behind computer and waits for rain of golden arrows covered in glitter and the remains of celebrities past who didn't  - and never could - make the grade.)

SWMBO has stolen and hidden the remote as well!!

:bounce:

thank goodness for the mains switch at the wall.
