Hi all anyone here a member or been a member as im thinking of signing up, would would like peoples opinions of the club. Ideally i want to join to get my hands on the Silver Link ideally.

Mustermark

I signed up in anticpation of getting hold of a Silver Link.  My fave loco in its best livery.  Can't wait.
I'm not exactly sure what other benefits there are, but that one is enough for me.
Not sure I've helped. ???

Suckers !  :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing:

In all honesty you'll easily get your moneys worth, even without the A4 - Loads of NQP (not quite perfect) stuff you can buy cheap and the usual club type stuff - pen, cup, notepad etc... Also they do a members day at the factory.
If it's got rails... you have my full, undivided attention - Steam, diesel and electric, 'tis all good !

I used to be a member purely so i could attend their open day to grab some Bargains. Sadly since moving to Sheffield it hasn't been feasible for  me to travel back for just a few hours so i haven't been a member for the past year.

But i'd say it's definitely worth it for the limited edition models, although having said that the Silver Link doesn't interest me as for some reason Dapol are NOT doing it with Valances.

What?  A grey A4 without valances?  OMG! :o   Are you sure?

Maybe I'll get the blue LNER one then... at least it will be right.  And then maybe I'll rename it Mallard. 8)

I'm pretty sure i saw it mentioned on Dapol's facebook page. Also all the pre-production shots don't show the valances.

Oh and i'd hold of on renumbering to Mallard, from what i've heard you won't be waiting long for one (You didn't hear this from me ;) )

oh that certainly sells it for me. hows it work do they just send you offers first come basis.

Richard @ N'Tastic Scale Models

There may be other offers to come.  My reason for joining is the open day, cheap dead but fixable locos and discounted rolling stock. Not sure I would join if I could bot get to the open day, that said the Hall was a great offer, not got 26 or A4 but still very happy member. News letter due soon.

The special offers are announced in their newsletters, they are first come first serve but there is normally enough to go around.
The open day is also announced in the newsletter and if i remember correctly you 'book' a timeslot (3 in a day for a group of about 30) and you have around 2 hours to look around the factory, buy NQP models and find out any new products.

Mustermark

In my welcome pack I got a limited edition coal wagon, pin-badge, key ring, pen, calculator and notepad.

I can't get to the open days, so it's really just the specials I'm hoping for.

Pardon Ollie? Didn't hear what, sorry...? I'm a bit deaf so your secret's safe with me. :-X
