Lawrence

It is quite amazing to think that 5 years ago today, the first of us joined this forum, okay so there were a few less of us back then than there is now  :D

Shortly after this I was delighted to be able to join Tank and we worked pretty hard between us putting various policies in place and mulling over new categories and sub boards.  Not to mention that first monster raffle we held which raised vital funds at the time.

Several other members have, over the years, stepped into the breach and joined the moderating team which keeps this forum probably the friendliest on the web.  They way the team has evolved with members coming and going maintains the freshness and openness of the forum.

I don't know if Tank ever thought that 5 years on we would boast members from all corners of the world and a happy cordial bunch to boot.  But I think that is down to the members and the team that keeps the forum ticking over.
I am chuffed that I was able to play a small part in the development of the environment, and I applaud the current incumbents as I know that it can be quite taxing at times.

I have also been blessed with the development of some wonderful friendships, something I cherish

So Happy 5th Anniversary NGF, here's to the 10th  :beers:

Never met you mate, but I have met Mick (NewportNobby) twice and he talks a lot about you.

As you say, we are a cordial bunch, and I thank you for your input in getting it all started.

Congratulations on the anniversary and  :thankyousign: to everybody - from the moderators to the contributors. I do enjoy my 'visits' to the forum, whether it is to gain a bit of information or just to pass a bit of time!  :beers:. David.

I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.
If a friend seems distant, catch up with them.

At least you didn't say 'None of it was complimentary', George

Lawrence - what the heck did you drag me into that I've been here so long? :telloff: ;)
