Hi Guys I have found a nice bit plywood 12mm that fits real nice for my back scène the only problem is the long edge at bottom is straight but I have another long edge looks like the 7 hills of Rome  can I use modeller licence and use the hilly bit for sky line on the ground the sky doesn't have a straight line or have to get the kill saw out.mike

Sounds like a plan to me!

I love using found objects like offcuts of timber, pipework or cable. The structure of the raised ground on my layout was once an estate agent's pole!

If you're not planning to use a conventional pasted on commercially available backscene then why create extra work? I guess it depends on your painting skills :hmmm:

12mm thick sounds ideal fr sanding the edges off and adding a bit of depth to the backscene, if you paint the wood like fields, and then do the same to the wall where it is going, then add some small trees you will create perspective and depth.
