Am in B/ham this weekend visiting family so won't be able to get. Google mapped it as didn't know where it is. Have you noticed just south is Temple Herdewycke and the railway there looks ieal for a roundy-roundy layout.

Quite agree, I was studying it last night on a Google satellite view!  Nice storage sidings for ideas?

I should be there on Saturday.  I don't think we've met, Peter, so I don't know if you'll recognise me.  If I spot you (I assume your forum picture is a good likeness) I might say hello.

The big roundy layout is a MoD base.  The branch leading to the base is all that remains of a line that ran into Stratford-upon-Avon.  I'd love to see the rail facilities inside the base, there were once open days and special excursions but not any more, I think.

Whilst the level of attendance today can only have been good for the organisers and the hobby as a whole I have to say it was too crowded for me.  I think I'll avoid Saturday mornings at this exhibition in the future.

Thanks, I agree with you about the crowds!

I arrived early with my prepaid entrance and spent about an hour actually enjoying the experience then it was as if the gates of humanity were flung wide and it got worse and worse as regards the numbers!

I feel strongly that whoever planned the layout for public access got it desperately wrong in places! (I have written to Key Publishing pointing out my experiences)

I DID enjoy seeing the "N" gauge layouts, I had a very good laugh with some of the visitors and found the traders extremely helpful.

Otherwise, I think I will try the Sunday next year.
