Street light spacing

Hi all. I am modelling in the 1960's era. Can anyone advise me on what distance I should space my street lights. This is the first time I have tried to install lighting on a model railway. Many thanks.

Current road traffic act for England is 200yrds Max so say approx 600 ft or 4 scale feet..not sure if in the sixties with poorer lamps it would be closer ?

I just been and paced these out for you

On our side road they are 40 yards apart, but on one side of the road only.
On the adjacent main A road they are 80 yards apart, so there is also one every 40 yards there too, but they are taller lamp posts.

All of them have been there since the 60s at least.

Probably not a lot of help but when I spaced my telegraph poles as per the prototype they looked waaayyy too far apart so I brought the spacing down and, to my tiny mind, they look so much better.

For street lights and telegraph poles I tend to go with what looks about right I don't think there is real standard for them just look about on your travels to see how the distances vary.
