Paying for postage for Emporium items through PayPal

I just bought a loco on the Emporium using Buy It Now. Once I got into PayPal there didn't seem to be any way of adding the postage, or changing the total amount. So I had to make a separate PayPal payment for the postage. Is that the way things are supposed to go?
