Caz

I live in a small village called Benalmadena Pueblo, a beautiful little village with lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance of my home.  We have just finished our week long annual feria (carnival and fair) and now this weekend for three days it is the "Zoco Arabe" or Arab styly fair and the Pueblo is full of Arab style stalls with lots of different things for sale including food, produce, drink, trinkets etc.

It is great fun and brings lots of visitors to the village and it is lovely to see them all enjoying themselves and I thought I'd share some of the atmosphere you.

First a picture of the town square then three of videos

Nice videos, Caz, very atmospheric. Those bagpipes were a bit of a shock, are they traditional, or was there a visiting party of Scots?
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Thanks for that.
You are very lucky to live where you do.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Hi Caz,

I love Spain and must go back before all the proper locos from my youth disappear.

Is it me or does the guy in the last video after 8/9 seconds say something about don't film me because of the tax man?

Anyway, wish we were there. Supposed to pour here tomorrow. Too old for the Reading festival though...poor sods  :)

Bagpipes of one sort or another appear in many parts (and forms) of the world. They are thought to have existed even in BC times and probably evolved from North African countries.
To my mind the skirl the pipes is a fantastic sound.

Good spot, he is in fact my neighbour whom we encountered on our way round the market and that is exactly what he said.    :)

Earlier this month there was a celtic festival in Brittany, France, which was televised at which pipe bands from Galicia and Asturias participated.

Other things that struck me about the films, which to me are slightly unworldy, are :

- no one is smoking

- no one has got tatoos

- no one is using their mobile phone

For me that's erie (sorry if spelt wrongly)

Best regards,

Joe
