One of the areas of Claywell that hasn't progressed much is the loco depot as I've been stuck for ideas.

I've got a a working Fleischmann turntable but due to space restrictions there is not a lot of room for a roundhouse and I've been stumped at what to do but today I came across this picture of Guildford Shed, it's exactly what I'm looking for, offset to one side with a fan of tracks, image is from the Guildford Museum website so thanks for sharing.

Seems that this together with a scratch built Bampton station are going to be my winter projects.

There is another (smaller) one with a similar overall configuration at St Blazey (Cornwall) - googling "st blazey engine shed pictures" brings up some pictures.

Here I go again.... Peter Denny managed to squeeze a small roundhouse into the corner at Buckingham on his legendary layout.

Sadly I don't have a picture, but today that engine shed at Guildford is a very fancy multi level car park. Built of brick, it has windows and a roof. At first glance it looks very much like an unfinished hotel or new office block.
Perhaps someone has a photo they could put on the thread?
If it's not a Diesel Hydraulic then it's not a real locomotive.

Yeah, been like that for 15 years I know of, probably longer ...

Looked at the photo & went "they destroyed that for a  :censored: multistorey  ??? " ...

True, I recall them building it when working on the North Downs Reading Gatwick services, but still a fancy design for what, essentially, is a car park!

Managed to do a little more on the semi low relief roundhouse.  I printed out one of the pictures of the roundhouse I'd found on the web and used the interior part to add a little atmosphere to the low relief part of the shed.  Still got to finish the roof and vents, where does all the time go.  :worried:
