How does this work With gauges?

Hi all,

I understand the 9mm is also used by some for a narrow gauge version of something like HO.

However, in it's turn, is there a gauge which uses HO for it's version of narrow gauge?

I'm really curious to know about how that aspect of model rail might work. I've seen nothing that appears definitive, but maybe I searched using the wrong words?

Anyone know for sure if there is something and what it is called?

HOe and 00-9 seem to be the favourite for stock to use as narrow-gauge gauges for us (me) runners as they both use N gauge tracks

Yes, I saw those, but does anything use HO track as it's narrow gauge? That's what I have not so far found out! I guess I was not clear enough in the question.

It would seem theres a fantastic amount of 'odd' gauges out there to cater for all needs

I have some On30 stuff mainly Bachmann Spectrum range all US outline they seem to be well made and quite reasonably priced.

Thanks one and all, spent an interesting hour or two looking over some of this stuff now I know what it's actually called! 

Fascinating stuff, and it would be all too easy to go there!

Just to complicate the issue, there's a lovely little layout called "Dawn of the Talyllyn by Tim Tincknell in the April Railway Modeller magazine that is modelled in 1:55 scale and uses 12mm track!
