Hi all,
So- I was browsing the Hattons website and happened to notice that there is an option to pre-order some different livery Farish Queen Mary Brake Vans (EWS, BR Bauxite, and SR Brown). . Does this mean that they are no longer an NGS exclusive model? Does the exclusive right go public after a certain time? Can anyone shed anymore light on this for me?

I've had my eye on the departmental olive version of the QM, but seeing as I'm not a member of the NGS I pretty much discounted owning one anytime soon because I barely have the money for modelling as it is, let alone sustaining any kind of membership too. Wonder if this livery will be released too?

As I understand it, as far as all NGS commissions undertaken by Bachmann have been concerned, Bachmann retain ownership of the tooling and the NGS has exclusive rights to the product for an agreed period. In the case of the QM and Inspection Saloon, I believe the period has expired meaning Bachmann can now produce the models as part of the general Farish Range.

The NGS had versions of the Queen Mary in all three of the livery options you listed. Hopefully the Farish releases have different running numbers...

I purchased a Stove R and inspection saloon from the NGS and they are two of my favourite models. Snowplough next!

I'm a relatively new NGS member myself, but I'm glad I joined for the exclusive models and journal. Hope your financial position improves soon!

Marriages have a tendency to take priority and also bite into modelling funds.

But, from a long way away, all the very best for your upcoming occasion! Have a drink for me!  :beers:
