I used to be able to see the original images, couldn't see these new ones.  And now the orifginals have gone too - just a big X.

Are they set to Mods only ?

No Mike but they are .png images and some browsers have problems with them due to licensing issues.

Tank

Yes, nothing wrong with the permissions on here, but perhaps I should switch these from .png to .jpg.

Just out of curiosity, (I know graphics compression has caused 'legals' in the past but I thought all had quietened down a while now !),  no axes to grind but  :)  :-

That is interesting, I thought it was GIF that caused all the problems over patents and that PNG was designed to be patent free and was adopted by W3C on that basis, did something change ?
W3C declaration "As of today, the International Standards Organisation (ISO), the PNG Development Group and the W3C are not aware of any royalty-bearing patents that are essential to implement the Portable Network Graphics specification." "Last updated: Date: 2003/05/12 14:49:18 "
and still on their page.

However, it may still be a browser issue in that PNG allows alpha channel, amongst other things, which some browsers do not handle well, so when saving to PNG it is as well to check the save options, especilly wrt to transparency.

If one is considering poster use then lossy, artefact ridden, jpg is not a good route !

With great apols to Tank, who was only having a bit of fun
Great fun pics Tank thanks, l liked 'em :)
Wife is most amused as well 'cause it is she what encourages me to 'go get one' !!

I like Tanks posters too, and in reference to MalcolmAls post - I use MS Digital Image software which produces .png files, but I always save them as .jpg files when they are finished and only upload the .jpg version to the other sites such as photobucket or when emailing them.
.png files take up a lot more space than .jpg ones.

In a spirit of friendship and cooperation I agree with you that jpg is quite adequate for the interweb,
but must also add -
depends upon what type of compression you want, how much  and what artefacts (if any (png = none in this context)) you wish to tolerate for what purpose.

,, but have to terribly disagree (sorry !) with you on photobucket, frightfully slow, such a data  overhead, so limited, so many better options , , ,

runs for cover ,,,
:) :) :)

EDIT :
I only commented upon png vs jpg in light of Tanks comment
"Yes, nothing wrong with the permissions on here, but perhaps I should switch these from .png to .jpg. "
and another comment (sorry cannot at the mo. see who (not in my browser at the mo.) [edit in edit - cycletrack9 in reply #1] who wanted _posters_ of Tanks masterpieces :) )  jpg not being suited to preservation of artistic works - which these are :) )
