Is it just me or do you also have dull blonde moments?

Was fitting a cobalt point motor on the weekend...one of the coach bolts joining my baseboards together was in the way so I removed it and  i used a temporary clamp while deciding how to resolve. Fitted the motor then tried the coach bolt and wing nut which was about an inch too long to fit...Plan A was to cut the bolt a bit shorter..out came a hacksaw and after nearly cutting off my finger Plan B came to me. Why not just use washers at the bolt end to ensure at the wing end it was a bit shorter.... Found some washers and after much effort managed to refit bolt and wingnut......only when I stood back did a think of Plan C which I should have done before re fitting the motor....just turn the bolt around and put the wingnut the other side of the joint where there was plenty of room...can't believe how dull I can be at times.... :'(

I'm thinking of buying a blonde wig. Too many incidents to mention - plus the nice men in white coats would probably offer me a ride in their nice van.  :-[

:D I used to be very partial to blonde ladies when I was a young bloke most were smarter than me, since I became a senior I have noticed that I do things and miss the obvious easy way after wasting time doing things the hard way   :worried:

port perran

All the time.
I have two controllers operating inner and outer circuits on Port Perran.
On Sunday, my Class 08 which is VERY reliable wouldn't move. I spent a good 45 mins checking first the loco then the track and all points and still it wouldn't move.
You can guess what the problem was !    Wrong controller.  And the two of them have been sitting side by side for at least 2 years. :dunce: :dunce:
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Are these the same as 'baldy man' (aka Egg in a nest) moments?
If so, they're part of my one a day :-[

In other hobby, at the theatre sound desk, input connected, sound out of laptop, input level up - no sound out of speakers, check power to rack - all pretty lights lit.  Give up as luvvies starting rehearsal.  One last look at sound desk and see both Master output controls at zero  .  Can I be even dumber - yes- this the second time. :help:

Size matters - especially if you don't have a lot of space - and N gauge is the answer!
