Presumably with the engine freeze whatever Honda come up with has to be the best option to challenge the Merc power plant. With Mario Illien floating around the Renault might find something though. As Williams have the Merc that puts them in a strong position enginewise and hopefully they can build on this years success. There wasn't anything wrong with the aero on the Red Bull. With Newey taking a step back it will be interesting to see if that affects them, although their aero team must be good, you never know how such things will pan out. Ferrari seem to be all over the shop, and frankly, I don't care as they can blame no one but themselves. Not sure if Vettel is going to have a fun time...
I think it was ultimately the 'right' result. Be interesting to see the Hamilton-Rosberg dynamic at the start of the season.

There's still a big question about Alonso. I can't believe he's going to back out of F1 for ANY period of time. I can't see him really going to McClaren unless he really thinks the new Honda relationship is going to allow him to win points. - Interesting to see how this pans out

I missed the race but was pleased to hear the result. Well done Lewis! I must admit to a sneaking feeling that team Merc might have tweaked Nicos car to ensure that the rivalry couldn't get out of hand at this stage.

Funny you should say that, I was thinking the same, also after Nico took Lewis out at Spa (I think) the following race Nico got all sorts of problems enabling Lewis to catch up points.  I was wondering if Nico was told if he wants to stay with Mercedes he was not going to be allowed to win the championship this year, not a good advert for Mercedes after such questionable behaviour as Lewis is very, very marketable and a good image for them.

Me too, he will be missed if he does go. It's disgusting how "Ruthless Ron" has treated both drivers. When you cast your memory back to 2002 (Renault) this must be deja vu for Jenson that Alonso could yet again lose him another seat!  I bet he must feel that Fernando is like having a sore spot on his backside that won't go away!

I know one thing though, I feel that if Button does leave F1 I won't be watching it as much, what with pathetic rule changes and that crazy double points scheme that could lose a driver the championship, I am starting to rapidly lose my enthusiasm for the sport.

Evidently it's well known that Ron Dennis does not like facial hair and that there is no love lost between him and Alonso, so it's interesting to see Alonso has grown a beard

LOL.... That never crossed my mind. Come to think of it I have a friend who does quite a bit of work around the Woking factory, apparently Ron is a freak when it comes down to things being spotless. Even to the point of supposedly having his gravel drive taken up and washed!

Are you sure that's true - Lewis has some (but not much) facial hair.

By the way I've just read that the McLaren/Honda engine combination is not working too well just yet.
