Great news that Lewis is F1 champion for the 2nd time. Just a shame that Rosberg's car died and it wasn't a real race.

Good news all the same

Size matters - especially if you don't have a lot of space - and N gauge is the answer!

Agree with the Lewis bit but still think, with the tremendous start he got, Nico would not have caught him :hmmm:
I also hope Jensen gets a place next year as, despite a dog of a car, he's had good results this year.
Sebastian has, to my mind, made a completely retrograde step in moving to Ferrari and Eddie Jordan was totally right in that Fernando Alonso jumped ship thinking that he might get a ride at Mercedes following the Lewis/Nico contretemps.

May I also suggest that those who don't like F1 desist from posting in this thread as there's nothing more tiresome than those who decry something that others like :unimpressed:

Congratulations to Lewis Hamilton on his and his teams achievement

It was a shame that Nico had problems with his car, he must have felt really sickened as he finished the race but did give a very good interview afterwards.

I hope we find out soon who is going where and I am looking forward to next years races  :claphappy:

cheers John.

The weather has been a bit "iffy" recently, but today turned out to be gloriously sunny, and I had to forego a swim in the Pool after lunch to watch Lewis clinch the World Title.
It turned out fairly easy for him in the end due to Rosberg's car problems, but he deserved it anyway. Well done - nice to see a British World Champion.

Lewis deserved his win and the championship well done Mercedes. I hope Jenson keeps his seat at Maclaren for next season he has done well this season with a bad car and things can only get better next year with Honda coming back.I think Williams deserve a well done as well it looks like they are well on the way back to the top.
Seb has shown he is not as good as he thought Ricardio  a F1 rookie showed him up all season with the same car I don't think we will see Seb being at the front with Ferrari next year.

Absolutely Congratulations to Lewis - He and Nico did have far superior equipment and he used it just a little better...

For me though Driver of the year, is Dan Ricciardo - dragging a pedestrian Red Bull up to third place and Team of the Year Williams for the emense improvement over recent years.

I think the others will close the gap to Mercedes over the winter so next year could be a 4-way fight between Lewis, Nico, Dan and Valteri Bottas.

Fantastic race, especially with Massa catching in the last 15 or so laps, I really thought that he was going to win at one point!

As for Bottas, he is a definate future world champion. His driving this season has been exeptional, as long as someone like Ricciardo, Kyvat or Verstappen doesn't get there first!

Great race, poor start from Rosberg and the car just broke under him. Shame really.

Oh, and I damaged my voice once again! (for those who won't know, I am an aspiring motorsport commentator, I covered the race and it was a good one tbh)

Were you broadcasting on any medium that we'd have access to?

Agree that Lewis was best driver of the two in the best car.

Having said that, I have a feeling the Red Bull chassis  was a serious bit of kit, its rare Adrian N churns out a duffer.

But, for me, my boys from Grove stole the show. When I saw they had qualified 3 and 4 I was wondering if I would find myself facing a moral quandary. It looked like Williams could spoil the party of one of the Merc lads, and if that was Hamilton I was thinking "who would I route for?"

No question, anyone in a Williams has my backing 100%

So, next year? Well I hope that the Williams team were keeping an eye on the car for next year earlier than normal. Lets face it, it was clear very very early nobody would touch the 3 pointed star, so I hope Williams have been working on the FW37 for a while.

If they have, I predict a fight between any driver in a Williams, Mercedes or Red Bull. Ferrari could be brilliant or naff, its all in their aero and nobody can predict that now.

Great news for Hammy... Well deserved over the season - 11 wins I think in the end..?

One of my friends will be partying for a while that's for sure. He just happens to work on the Championship winning car

Lucky fella.

We're in for a good season next year with the Mercedes form and Williams accelerating (excuse the pun) fast to the top teams. Maybe the new Mclaren Honda partnership will add some new competition as well.

If Mercedes were to make a tiny engine we could fit in our trains we could have a Formula N all of our own.!  :D

Presumably with the engine freeze whatever Honda come up with has to be the best option to challenge the Merc power plant. With Mario Illien floating around the Renault might find something though. As Williams have the Merc that puts them in a strong position enginewise and hopefully they can build on this years success. There wasn't anything wrong with the aero on the Red Bull. With Newey taking a step back it will be interesting to see if that affects them, although their aero team must be good, you never know how such things will pan out. Ferrari seem to be all over the shop, and frankly, I don't care as they can blame no one but themselves. Not sure if Vettel is going to have a fun time...
I think it was ultimately the 'right' result. Be interesting to see the Hamilton-Rosberg dynamic at the start of the season.
