It's a Tale of Two Orders. Last Tuesday morning I ordered a small item off a E-bay seller. Small, not fragile, could be dropped in the post in a jivvybag. Now Friday and not received yet. At 3.30 yesterday (Thursday) afternoon I ordered a S/hand DMU off Rails of Sheffield E-bay site. At 10 o'clock this morning my postman handed me a well -wrapped package. At 10.20 my DMU was quietly circulating my layout.!Less than 24 hours! Hats off to RAILS. Why does it take so long to drop a small item in the post box? Is the items cost not worth the trouble? I did pay postage. RAILs was post free. Mckey 26 :confused2:

Send them a message via ebay. If you don't hear anything from them, or receive the items within 14 days then raise a dispute with ebay. It amazes me the amount of jokers that sell things on ebay.

If you want to have a giggle then look at the "ebay madness strikes again" thread. There's someone on there selling a packet of "collector's" nails!

To me they look like track pins or something not too dissimilar.

Hi

Some people have day jobs and cannot get to the post office until the weekend. What did the postage part of the ebay item say?

Cheers

You get some good and some indifferent.

I have to say hats off this week to Mikron Models down south somewhere.  Not only did they have some older items in which seem to be out of stock elsewhere but the blue 47 I ordered turned up next day recorded delivery for no extra cost.  In fact it beat its decoder from Hattons.

Quite true there Paul, which is more than understandable. An e-mail or message to the buyer wouldn't hurt though, especially if the buyer has paid. I have to arrange onwards postage for my items from the UK and I find it so frustrating when sellers don't answer messages, dilly dally with sending what you've paid for etc. then again, like you say, the seller might have placed a message saying that they can only post on certain days of the week (certainly not a problem).

I guess it's just reflective of society though. There are the super organised, there are the lazy, and then there are the messers.

Nothing we can really do about it other than, I believe, take a hard line . I know that might be controversial with some but if you list something for sale on ebay then you do have a responsibility to actually post it and communicate with the buyer.

Exactly that

Should clearly state their postage policy and if it says "will post within 5 days of payment" or whatever then you accept those terms by bidding, in which case you have no right to expect it any earlier ;)

The point is with RoS you're dealing with a reputable business, with Ebay there could be any reason
for the delay like work, illness, carelessness, just  plain bone idleness. The seller should state their
estimate of posting date if it's not immediate upon receiving funds. If it doesn't arrive by Monday
and there's no valid reason post the sellers details in the rogues ' gallery.

There are various posts in the Ebay section, not all under the same heading, listing various
sellers who have been up to or suspected of roguishness. One in particular who sells
dodgy model  rail items and coffee machines.
