Lion-hearted performance by the Socceroos but the result went against them. It didn't make the Dutch look particularly good which, again, was down to the Aussies.
Now, if only Spain can lose later..... :hmmm:

Another really good game... Cahill's volley was brilliant

They did - I shall have to call you Mystic Mick  ;) What lottery numbers should I pick?
Just one Pendolino, give it to me, a beautiful train, from Italy

Spains' (read Barcelona) tippy tappy style has been well found out and he really should have been resting some of these guys who have been involved in the latter stages of European club competitions too.  No Fabregas or Silva, Torres didn't look interested and a late and ineffective appearance by Cazorla.  del Bosque must be thinking about his future, sorry, should be thinking about his future!
Having said that, Chile were superb, a work rate few could match and some great touches.

Had to laugh when Rio Ferdinand said they were playing at near Premier League pace, great pundit  ::) those last two Chile performances would have ripped every team in the Premier League to bits and with room to spare!

Agree with much of what you say - but changing tack slightly - did you know that your Flag avatar is showing the Flag of Tenerife!.
Scotland's & Tenerife flags are identical, when we first moved onto the Island I thought we had landed in Scotland looking at the flags on the back of the local cars, but the constant sunshine told me I was in the right place.
Each Canary Island has it's own flag, and the Islands as a whole  have a flag which is white, blue, and yellow.

Back to the football - Cameroon & Croatia are just starting.

That Spanish team looked very tired the passing was bad and they just did not have a clue where the goal was, meanwhile Chile did not lookthat clever but had enough fire to kill off Spain, well it's Englands turn tonight how is it they all seem very calm because they need to get the job done tonight or there will be a lot of boo,s when they get off the plane.

Thanks, Mick... I just saw the replay and it's a shame. The Aussies played so well, but it's the result that counts - such is the nature of the game. They've got nothing to be ashamed of that's for sure. That goes for the Chile match too.

At least NSW took out QLD in the State of Origin rugby league last night... good job QLD KID is still in England!

3-0 England I say.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

As a Welshman I also want England to win......don`t believe that we don`t secretly cheer for the English in football... that only happens when its the funny shape ball game..... It would be great to have a Welsh team qualify for a major tournament but we just don`t have the strength in depth... I am a supporter of any of the home nations and would shout for the Scots/Irish and Northern Irish if they were there.... maybe one day Gareth Bale will grace a major tournament but I think it will be like Giggs and Best ... great players but unable to play on the greatest stage.

Newportnobby

Having jinxed Spain, I'd better keep schtum about England :uneasy:
