Hi,

Can any one explain the differences between the loco hauled and the HST mark 3 coaches.

As I am drawing up a replacement roof to fit on to my Dapol based coach, with a  pantograph well, for the new measurement train, I was wondering how different the roof was between the 2 other types and wether it would be worth putting it on shapeways for people to buy if they wanted to.

Cheers for the info.

The main difference is that the HST stock had the large square air con unit, whereas the loco hauled (LHCS) stock had 3 smaller roevac vents. They are very obvious the difference.

A friend has drawn up the roevacs to be 3d printed in 4mm and I'm trying to convince him to scale them down to 2mm - they will be tiny!

An alternative would be draw up a drop in section of roof with all 3 vents ie cut out section of roof with fquare air con unit and drop in new section.

I'm not sure it is worth printing the whole roof (unless you wanted to try and correct the roof curve which I suspect Dapol have got slightly wrong).

Cheers, Mike

I was only thinking about it as I have already half way through drawing up the whole roof to do the pantograph well for the NMT and it's only a small amendment to do the other vents.
