Not sure where to place this topic so please move if neccessary.

Does anyone subscribe to the yahoo ngauge forum and have you had any problems accessing it lately?

I used it for years until this recent Neo rubbish, not looked at it since, same with the SEmG (southern group) Neo was the reason I jumped ship and came here to NGF, not regretted it one bit.

I use the MERG forum and can't seem to get past the sign in page.

MERG were doing an upgrade over the weekend - have you tried it again? I just tried now and it seems to work.

Alternatively you may have fallen foul of the rule about renewing 3 months before expiry (as I nearly did!) and been bumped off the system.

Same here. I used to be a member of quite a few of the Yahoo groups then they came up with Neo. Completely destroyed the groups and didn't listen to the thousands of users complaining so I left.

And yet the die hards who only communicate with the groups by Email can't see the advantages of a proper forum, the SEmG group had a trial forum and then ran a poll and the emailers won the day. I get enough cr@p in my inbox as it is without asking for a load of emailed posts. The only way to get pics in a post was the send it as an email attachment, they did have a gallery but it was a PITA to navigate.

I can only echo. I was a Yahoo user, but I stopped using the majority of them 6 years ago as they are old technology. If Yahoo decided to allow pictures to be posted in the messages then that might help save them, but I feel that because of the advancement of the internet and forums that they will just fade away.

I do still keep an eye on the NGauge & NGaugeModern Yahoo groups, but only via email which is sent to a Yahoo Email address which I set up when I joined, I mainly use it on my phone.

As to the question of choice between Yahoo Groups email or Forums such as NGF, then my vote would have to be Forums, especially NGF (you can pay me later Chris

)

I do still mooch on over to 'That other forum'

now and again, but seem to spend most of my time on here.
