That looks like a GF (Poole) GWR Hall chassis to me. It might fit inside a King body, but is substantially shorter than a King chassis, so wouldn't be a sensible replacement. The King wheels are bigger too.

As there is no description of it's running properties on the listing I wouldn't buy this second hand unless you just want the parts.

Complete, running, GWR Kings turn up on ebay occasionally. They usually go for fairly high (but not completely silly) prices.

Neill, thankyou it is just the information I need, I have very little knowledge of such things!

I did indeed let my heart rule my brain and I paid a goodly price for the locomotive initially, it has since proved a real P in the A, to say the least.

I fit the saying well "There's no fool like an old fool!"
