Not a big fan of F1, but he had a great career and I wish him well.

Unfortunately the risk you take with any danger sport (skiing off-piste according to reports), and most F1 drivers need to get their adrenaline fix in other ways away from the track.

He's a nice bloke, I hope he makes a full recovery. Don't forget, they wrote Richard Hammond off at one point after his high-speed crash and severe brain trauma ;)

I am very saddened by this news.

The man was always my "baddie" on the F1 seen, as a life long Williams fan I was not always fond of him, but only in a "Ya-boo-sucks to you" cartoonish kind of way.

I certainly never wished him any harm and I always respected (and still do) his immense talent.

Very true Paul, Hammond's crash crossed my mind when I heard the new's too.

Here's hoping Micheal pulls through, wishing him well.

This is virtually a re-run of the way Liam Neeson lost his wife Natasha Richardson in 2009. Let's hope this has a happier ending.

Mr Sprue

Addmittedly after the Damon Hill and jacque Villeneuve incidents and along with all the Ferrari cheating he was always for most the man to hate.

But without a doubt he has achieved more than anyone in the sport and is a totally awesome guy, l sincerley hope he makes a full recovery from his injuries like the lucky Mr Hammond.

Bristolmar

Talk Sport just quoted French source as saying he is "between lie and death".

I hope he pulls through, but also with little enough permananet damage to live a meaningful life.

Latest from what I can find on the web is: Michael Schumacher undergoes second surgical procedure and shows signs of 'slight improvement'.

Yea I heard the press conference............may be a matter of translation but the slight improvement was described as slight stabilisation ie status quo.

F1 has never done it for me but I respect Michaels ability and achievements. I still remember where I was when Senna crashed   :uneasy:

Hope he pulls through and fully recovers. I've already lost one childhood hero (Senna), can't loose my teenage hero too!

Remarkable individual, if anyone watches the Race of Champions each year it's pretty clear to see he's still got it, his 2nd F1 career didn't do his talents justice.

Come on Schumi

Couldn't have worded that better myself!
