Can somebody tell me where to buy some 9mm track gauges for code 40 track please?

So far my internet searching has only resulted in American sources.

Is there somewhere in the UK that produces one, or is the N Gauge Society gauge suitable for code 40 rail?

I wish to make some code 40 track on copper clad sleepers for a yard layout....I'm assuming the best source of PCB sleepers is the 2mmSA ?

Thanks

Your best bet is probably Fast Tracks at present, they produce NMRA compliant track gauges specifically for track building in N rather than 2mm and are suitable for most rail profiles. Having said that the 2mmSA gauges will only really affect wheel back to backs through frogs, which can be corrected by using shims of a suitable thickness when fitting check rails/frogs as long as the rail gauge is consistent, the extra 0.42mm track width of 2mm is next to nothing on plain track.

2mmSA is one of the few sources I know of suitable PCB, and also 9.42mm gauges. Noel Leaver did some 9mm gauges for use with the 2mmSA pointwork but I'm not aware of any general source of them. The British Finescale product range doesn't include one as the jigs and pre-holed point bases avoid the need for it.

9.42mm plain track works well with N wheels, turnouts obvious not. It also looks a little better than 9mm track as its much closer to the correct 9.6mm gauge.
