Hmmm - many laptops can't go beyond the 4GB mark, basically because you get limited expansion capability in them ... the mfrs just don't provide spare slots :(  Don't know if this one has that, but best be aware.

Hi Mike,

You can check the maximum amount of memory a machine can take on the Crucial web site.  Indeed, it may require you to "throw away" the existing DDRs and replace with new ones.
