That new Farish 31 looks cracking. There certainly is a lot to look forward to in the coming years.

Cab interiors?

Looks good, wonder if there's any chance of a Railfreight red-stripe version before the end of the decade? ::)

Hopefully there will be a skinhead version not too long after this one hits the light of day.

Thanks, Owl! What an awesome model! Flywheels? Double awesome!!

I am assuming the skinhead version is that horrid BR BLUE?  : ;D

no its the one in the white fred perry t shirt, skinny blue jeans with braces and 20 hole black doc martens rather than wheels.

??? Me too... all I can think of is that white thing that was around about then...

As a relatively infamous Australian politician once said: "Please explain?"

Nope, still can't see the connection? ???

Not much of a helpful explanation either ...

thats it, if you cant see, then you just cant....

the two pic's  are both skinheads, see my description of the livery after bealman insulted the BR Blue one.

not repsonding to any more on this thread.

Never heard a 31 called that before

In fact, never heard of half of them on that site. Problem with a lot of loco nicknames is they can be very localised, meaning anyone from a different area has no idea what you're talking about ;)

I was not out to insult anyone - I genuinely had no idea what was being discussed here. Now that the photos and explanations have been posted, I can see a vague connection. But, as the above post by Sprintex points out, nicknames are very localised. I doubt very much that UK forum members would be very aware of nicknames given to NSW locomotives.

And as to insulting the BR blue livery, folk can call the BR green livery mucus green, for all I care. I like it. I didn't like the BR blue livery when it was applied when I was a teenager in high school in the UK at the time, and never will like it. However, it was a major part of BR history and I love seeing quality N gauge layouts portraying it - of which we have many excellent examples on this forum.

I now know what a 'skinhead' is. Thank you, AG for the information.
