after some serious over spending I am declaring march my 'buy nothing month'!

I must not even look at eBay or other model shops online and I will only be reading old magazines or books. no take away food or buying coffee at work! no going out anywhere unless its free!!

fiscal discipline and will power are called for!!!!

Tim

Yeah good luck with that  ;) ;)

SWMBO always tries to inflict a 'buy nothing month' on me every month, and fails miserably  :D  :D

Regards

Neal.

My wants list:

Dapol 56s and 58s in original Railfreight, Dapol 86 in IC Swallow and Virgin liveries, Dapol weathered BR grain hoppers, Farish weathered BP TEA tankers, a Dapol Jubilee 67, Dapol Arriva and Regional 153s, chassis for a Farish 87 and a 50, a Farish 03, a Farish 350 in LM livery and the Dapol Pretendolino set.

Recommendations on which one I shouldn't buy, this month, will be most welcome.

That's cheating! There's only 3½ hours of this month left ;)

hattons and rails sent me emails today!!!! not helping guys!!!! they are like bookies praying on a gambling addict!!!!

so i nearly bid on a 3 wheel sncf coach on ebay (in a larger scale, ssshhh), but didn't!

i think i will have to make an exception to the rule that i am allowed to buy items under £10 such as paint or glue.... otherwise i may not be able to do much to my layout.

i have been listening to jazz fm this evening whilst i re-glued down my platform because it wasn't sitting flat enough on the board, i then repaired some ballasting, and i have added the first people to the layout!!! 3 people now waiting for a  dmu local service to arrive at my small island platform!!!

just think, if everyone on this forum were to sell their trains on ebay we could probably pay off the national debt!!!!  f##k doing that though!!!

anyway stay strong all those who are joining in the buy nothing month which starts very soon!!!!

Buy nothing for a month hey  :hmmm: OK I wont  :claphappy: I am saving for a holiday  :help: have to pay my car registration :veryangry: get new tyres for my back wheels on the car    the electricity account is due and the phone bill just arrived  whatever is left will be spent on tins of soup, jars of jam, margarine and bread

I decided some time ago that I would do this great hobby on a small budget and nowt has changed

Hi Bart, crikey mate seeing the bills you have to pay made me realize I have nothing to moan about, sorry to hear about your shonky builder that type of thing seems to happen a lot these days, hope things work out OK for you.

Hi EP and crew, wife would not let that happen. My shed is already big enough in her opinion,  at 20m by 12m and two storeys. Having said that i could always enclose the shed side awning, its 10.5m by 4m, just use it really for washing the fire trucks and father in law parks his caravan under it. Must admit, shed does look good on google earth though!
And i dont think zac would be impressed he loves the pool and now that it is all fix and has new polished stone for the surrounds to the entertaining/bbq areas it looks absolutely fantastic even after the bitter and costly experience
