Well, the Claywell & High Hackton layout got its first  :NGaugeForum: visitor today, Woodbury22k (Mike) and his wife Sue, what a lovely couple and Mike had a good play time driving some of the trains, nice to see trains being driven manually for a change instead of the computer doing all the work.  ;)

If any of you ever visit the Costa del Sol and fancy checking the layout out, always happy to oblige.  :)

Well I have to say that Caz's layout is even better than it looks in her layout thread. The atmosphere created by the varied scenery with sound equipped trains running through it captivated me and my wife (and my wife is a non-believer when it comes to our N gauge passion). Caz even let me play on my own while they made the tea! What impressed me most of all was the ingenuity evident all through the layout. Steam generators in tunnels to create the right billowing steam effect, steam locos with illuminated headcode lamps and a home generated sound set up on the Blue Pullman which gave a true of effect of a diesel engine at each end of a set. Can't wait to hear what she does with her FGW HST!

Just a word of warning for anyone else who visits please make a better job of the weather. While it did not stop Caz giving us a warm welcome, the torrential rain here today was much more typical of winter in the UK than somewhere known as the Costa del Sol.

Thanks for having us Caz.

Maybe it was the way you sidled up to him, gave a furtive look left and right  :uneasy: , and then whispered "pssst ... got any Freightliners?" :D
