just checked my account at Hattons and my two have been despatched today.

what an xmas pressie   :bounce:

only problem is how to get them into the shed without SWMBO seeing them :hmmm:

 :hmmm:
Lock SWMBO in the shed all day and then hide them in the house >:D
That wouldn't be suspicious at all :uneasy:

can't do that, she'll find all the other stock she doesn't know about, then it certainly wouldn't be a white christmas, it would be a brown one for me  :'(

That's a big problem, but our resident expert on hospital treatment (Jerry Howlett) may be able to help you through the agony.
In the meantime, get the parcel delivered elsewhere and smuggle it in when SWMBO is out

they arrived today, and I got busted BIG time  :'(

was just thinking about getting up at about 15:00, last night shift till boxing day tonight, when the front doorbell went and SWMBO answered it.

got up and wandered downstairs and there is this big box with a Hattons label on it, and SWMBO standing by it  :hmmm:

"I didn't know you'd got anything else coming !"

"Oh yes, I know what that is, it's the 1:48 Jackal and Coyote to go with the snatch and WMIK landrovers"

I know that cause they were despatched wednesday via RM and the hsts were only despatched yesterday, both on the 48 hour tracked.

get knife, slit tape and remove packaging, then reveal ......

2 x blue grey HSTs  :help:

looks that could cut armoured plate from SWMBO ..........

"funny looking Airfix kits ! So I take it you've still got another parcel to come!"

:-[

it's quite snug out in the doghouse, and at least my german shepherd loves me !

oh, by the way, the kits were in a parcel the regular postman had left in my safe place this morning

have been advised that when I get up tomorrow I am taking her to Brighton, shopping, and then sunday we're going to Crawley, shopping, ..........

"And don't think you're getting to Modelzone either !"

oooooppss

How're you going to carry the shopping with those 2 broken arms? :worried:

she'll probably have hooks plastered into the casts so she can hang the carrier bags on me like a christmas tree ::)

Sounds like a girl after my own heart   I'm sure you guys really love all the suffering we give you, makes you feel good.  Seriously, though, all you need do is show her you love her as much as the railway (which you probably don't,  but at least try!), it could make all the difference.   Merry Xmas all.

Irritatingly, I have had the blue grey HST set on pre-order with Rails for months now and so far no message from them of despatch (do they bother to do this at rails?) and definitely no HST has arrived. I've looked in my pre-order account and it still seems to be on pre-order.

Having read this thread have now asked (via email) where my HST is.

I had similar problems with the class 56 but that was with Hattons, i.e. they seemed to receive theirs long after the other retailers.

Guy

I emailed Rails last night, no reply as yet. I have tried phoning but they just seem to have their answer machine on. No idea if they're open today, there is no information re that on their voicemail.

Does anyone know if Rails is open on Xmas Eve? Most shops seem to be, but maybe not Rails, either way they are either too busy seeing to physical customers, closed or just can't be bothered to answer the phone/email to pre-ordering customers. I'd be interested to find out which of these options is actually happening?

Irritated and not happy of Andover!  :(

This is on their website:

"This year Rails of Sheffield will be closed on Monday the 24th, Tuesday the 25th and Wednesday the 26th of December and also on Tuesday the 1st of January.

We will be operating on our normal opening hours on all other days during the Christmas and New Year period."

The reason for this is as of Saturday (our last open day before Christmas) we had yet to receive the HST from Dapol.  They tend to distribute in a rather 'random' order as was proved with the 56 you mention.

Oh and in regard to opening times, we never open on Christmas Eve :)

Too right an' all !!

Far too much expectation on shops being open, but people seem to forget this means people having to WORK?  ::) Bad enough most shops now appear to be open Boxing Day - in my opinion ALL shops should be closed Boxing Day as well as Christmas Day to give the staff a decent holiday! If they can be closed Christmas Eve or at least close half-day then all the better  ;)

Several of our shops/restuarants were open all of Christmas including Christmas day.
