Images not displaying

many of the images will not display for me - I get a "I don't have permission" message instead - not all images but quite a lot of them - I was in various pages in the Mills review sub-forum .

Out of curiosity what is the significance of the numbers appearing next to 'Media' and 'Gallery' and what can I do to get rid of those numbers please? (Purely for tidiness sake, you understand )
