I guess I'm not alone in this but why (as this evening) can I run trains perfectly with no problems at all but on other evenings (eg yesterday) I get derailments/uncouplings and stoppages. Nothing on the layout has changed from yesterday to today !
I often wonder if it has something to do with how relaxed I feel. Do we transmit our feelings to the railway ?  Spooky !
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Murphy's Law of Model Railways states that everything will run badly if your friends are watching and any derailments will happen in a tunnel :D I'm sure there are a few more Murphy's Laws I haven't thought of.

So true.

Some more Murphy's laws:

If rolling stock derails or decouples at a particular spot, how comes when I watch that spot closely the offending loco, coach or wagon will traverse it successfully time after time after time until I look away again...

When everything is running smoothly and you feel confident to go an make a cup of tea or make a quick visit to the bathroom, everything will have gone belly up by the time you get back...

At the very moment you are thinking "this loco is one of my best runners" it isn't any more...

I thought I was alone in having trains that play up the moment I leave the room.

Does temperature have a part to play in this?
Not necessarily the layout's but also maybe the operator :worried:

Ive often wondered if temperature does have a bearing on things . In fact there was a short thread on that topic a couple of years back I think.
And i agree the temp of the operator may not help!
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.
