I know many people have different views of Amazon as a business but that aside, as with a huge majority of the british public I do enjoy the benefits of my Prime account.

I was made aware of the christmas period football games they would be showing and last night, while not feeling too well, (no drama its definitely not covid) I lie on the sofa to watch Brentford - Man City. Having been a city fan for 32 years I hardly ever watch them because I just get frustrated with their attitude towards the game, last night I felt too ill to kick the tele in if it all went wrong!, the highlights on Boxing Days 6-3 over Leicester were very much enjoyable and last night we were mediocre at best and constantly Brentford threatened. Luckily we clung on for a 1-0 win to put us 8 points clear after Chelsea were woeful and Liverpool also threw 3points away.

But the commentary team on Prime is absolutely fantastic

Gabby Logan, Peter Drury, Ally McCoist, Patrice Evra, Nigel De Jong and Alan Shearer were last nights commentators and pundits, but they seem to have grabbed everyone worth listening too away from BBC and ITV,

So  :claphappy: Well Done Amazon for great production of the "beautiful game" certainly people with opinions about the game rather then the tick box bunch the BBC now run with.

As a Brentford supported for the last 62+ years I have to say you were very kind to Brentford in your comments Craig. In my opinion the Bees never looked like scoring in a week. One moment of magic sealed the result for City.

As to the commentators i have no real views. I usually record MoTD etc so that I can fast forward through the punditry.

As opposed to the club with 1 of the shortest histories in the league? Bristol City (1982)  :smiley-laughing:

Mr Sprue

My angle on the game is quite bizarre really, dare I admit it Iv'e always been a keen fan of Chelsea before the Russian influence.

About 22 years ago I took my FA coaching badge then my EUFA 'B' licence which unlike today's standards were both tough course's to take. I remember one of my course instructor's in the pub one day after training whilst watching a Man U game on the pub box saying to me "The game will look totally different when you come away from here after what we are teaching you".

He was right, when I get the chance I watch most games it's amazing to spot all the mistakes professional players make, even today after all the time i've not been involved with the game. It's great from a coaching aspect to appreciate what these people taught me!

Professional players no matter what their price tag, really are not the worth the money they are being payed. Even Messi! Because they play for a fat bank balance and not for the game.

@Mr Sprue Jack Grealish a prime example.

I never rated him at Villa and how he came with £100mil price tag I'll never understand. But Alan Shearer was spot on about his attitude last night. He looked good at Villa because they are a mid table team with a small squad so unless he was injured he made the team.

Now hes at City earning well over £200k a week hes got NO desire to turn out and play, quite honestly for his  :censored: poor attempt at playing last night he could of not even gone out and I doubt the rest of the team would of noticed they were playing with 10 men.

Mr Sprue

Alan Shearer from an ex players point of view will always give a decent unbiased opinion, I have always rated him he has always been someone who should have progressed further.

Quite bizarre really I follow coaches and managers more than players. My top man for this and last season has to be David Moyes! He has done a sterling job.
