Happy Birthday, Thomas! A young Bealman grew up with you, mate!

I always liked the fact that the Rev. Awdry was himself a railway modeller.

Happy Birthday!

Big part of my childhood this. Constant watching of the videos I had on VHS narrated by Ringo Star, the books and of course my Hornby OO Thomas set!

Almost the first books I read, after Janet and John (and if you know who they were you must also be of a certain age!)
Happy birthday Thomas

I remember Janet and John. When I was 16 or 17 I went out with a girl called Janet but dumped her the same week when I realised what I had done and what people would say. She was a lovely girl too. True story

Happy birthday Thomas we still have some of the original books
And some of the original Janet and John books .
My Mum actually taught me to read with Janet and John books even before I went to school at Hurst infant school .
I even remember we had a male teacher whos name I cant remember but I do know he used to say TIDBURY get the Janet and John books out , he then went outside  to  smoke his pipe and read his newspaper While I helped the other children to read .The books  were very repetative which is why they were so good though I got fed up with them and started reading Thomas books when I was a bit older .The first  Thomas books were printed in 1946 .
