Irish Padre

A few years ago I was getting back into model railways after many years and this forum was an unfailing place of help and support. I am now scratch building in 7mm scale - Irish prototypes. Had it not been for you guys it wouldn't have happened - not to mention those of you who sent me goodies on tour in Afghanistan. So thanks - and I'll keep dropping by occasionally if you don't mind!

I would have joined the Forum after the time you mention so it's lovely to hear from you.

I was fortunate enough to call the late Richard Chown a friend and spent many happy hours operating Castle Rackrent.  Irish 7mm scale is certainly attractive.

Faugh a Ballach!

Best wishes.

The Table-Top Railway is an attempt to create, in British 'N' gauge,  a 'semi-scenic' railway in the old-fashioned style, reminiscent of the layouts of the 1930s to the 1950s.

Thanks! Richard sounds an amazing character and Castle Rackrent still inspires.

Hello!  A shame you've changed gauges, but I hope you'll be back with us some day.  :)

Great to hear from you again. OK - you've gone Outsized but, as you know, we're a tolerant lot ;D
